le mas du bourrelier

Pool and Garden

The enlarged terrace was recently re-paved with beautiful travertine natural stone. The immaculate 8x4 pool is heated and equipped with a neat automatic cover that keeps the water warm and safe. This means you can enjoy warm sunny days and a warm pool also in the early and late season. The garden is completely private, so ideal for naturism or a clothing-optional holiday. It is well-equipped for outside living with an outdoor shower, sun beds, gas barbecue and outdoor dining furniture. Although surrounded by beautiful mature trees, it has good sun right through the day - well into the late afternoon and early evening. Pretty much all the time you can be in good sun or good shade - depending on individual taste. Lighting has been added throughout the garden for safety and atmosphere.

In midsummer in Provence the sun can be baking hot, which is perfect for some people.  Others need a bit more protection and the garden at Le Mas du Bourrelier is designed for all tastes.  Serious sun-worshippers can bask in full sun from dawn till dusk.  But dappled and full shade are also available and the different light conditions are all within a few strides of the edge of the pool.  So the more sensitive amongst us need not feel like anti-social wall flowers.

Dinner in the garden is often the perfect end to a perfect day.  Barbecue fans have full scope to demonstrate their skills with meat, fish and vegetables bought in the market at Sainte Cecile or Vaison.  There is now a very large dining table in the shade plus smaller tables with a sunnier position.  Sit under the leafy canopy if you want to or right on the edge of the pool.  And it is not far to carry your freshly cooked food from the La Cornue cooker in the kitchen to the dining room or garden. Below is the view from the garden at sunset of the Dentelles de Montmirail, our local mountains.

Here you see that the house is set in gorgeous vineyards with a backdrop of the Mont Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail.
